Looking at the persuasive ads was one of my students' favorite activities of the year. Even after they were finished, some sixth graders kept bringing me ads to prove they learned the information.

I was asked to tutor a 7th grader for the STAAR Reading Test. Since I'm not a 7th grade teacher, I reach to TpT to find resources. Thankfully I stumbled on this comprehensive well put together material. It was simple and effective to use and the student I worked this PASSED his STAAR test!

Student are more engaged when they understand "WHY" they're having to complete a lesson. They also appreciate when the lessons can reach them where they are. I love the idea of spilling the T.E.A. to compose a short constructed response, especially since TEA will monitor their progress on this skill via their STAAR. (I couldn't resist!)
